The Holy Quran began to be revealed on the Night of Power during the month of Ramadan. Revelation of the Holy Quran continued in parts according to need during various periods of time to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and this process ended approximately 23 years.
The month of Holy Ramadan has outstanding value int heart of Muslims because the Holy Quran was revealed in this month. So all Muslims recite Holy Quran regularly during Ramadan and in Travieh prayer Quran are also recited.
Since the Quran was first revealed in Ramadan so all Muslims celebrate the anniversary of Quran in this month. In the month of Ramadan the Muslims make stronger their spiritual life. The Holy Prophet increases the recitation of the Holy Quran in Ramadan.
Laylat Al-Qadr is the anniversary of the night that the Qur’an says it was revealed. Muslims worship more in the last ten days of Ramadan because Laylat al-Qadr could any night of last odd number nights. Muslims also perform an i’tikaf in the last 10 days of Ramadan. So the last 10 days are very important for Muslims.
As Allah Says in Quran:
“Verily! We have sent it (this Qur’an) down in the Night of Decree (Lailatul-Qadr). And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. Therein descend the angels and the Rooh (i.e. Gabriel) by Allah’s Permission with all Decrees, Peace! until the appearance of dawn.” (Sura’ Al-Qadr 97: 1-5)
